Control page Control:feature:.LOG extension

(this feature is implemented for replacement compatibility with the Microsotf's Windows Notepad's log appending feature)

To append a log to a document each time it is opened, type the .LOG extension, on the very first line of the document. It must begin at the very left margin. Also make sure to uppercase all letters, and include the leading period.

Upon loading a document with this heading, current time/date stamp is appended to the document using the Time/Date or Date/Time tool. Caret is then left at the end of the document.

Note: Whether Time/Date tool or Date/Time tool is employed can be set by Add date first, then time setting in the Settings dialog. See chapter General page of the Settings dialog.

Note: Output of both Time/Date and Date/Time tools can be modified thru Date/Time: Date/Time glue setting in the Settings dialog. See chapter Tools page of the Settings dialog.
