When the TED Notepad window is hidden into the System Tray area, it does not relinquish the keyboard focus properly, like it does upon standard minimize window command.
The result is that no other underlying window is automatically activated, like it would be upon standard minimize window command. The user is thus forced to switch to some window manually.
However, the Hide to Tray should resemble the standard minimize window command behaviour.
